Easter Bunny

Tuesday, March 31, 2015

Mason had his first pictures with the Easter Bunny. See how he does!

"Um, seriously, is this really happening?"

"Am I the only one seeing this?"

"Okay, one more look to make sure that I'm not crazy."

"Uh, yeah, I definitely don't like this guy!"

"Maybe my vision is bad. Let me just double check."

"Yeah, definitely don't like him."

"Please come get me Mommy!"

Happy Easter to you and your family!!! We are counting down to General Conference weekend, and Mason's very first Easter!

Mom Uniform

Friday, March 27, 2015

Most days, I'm in easy pants and a basic shirt. I'm learning that my clothes will get spit on, or food on, or that I need to get on the ground and play with Mason. Mason's my alarm clock so I don't always get time to put a decent outfit together. What are your favorite brands as a mom? I am in need of a few more pieces that I can wear around the house, and that is transitional but will still make me look presentable when going out, and running errands.

Work Routine

Wednesday, March 25, 2015

We just spent the past 2 hours trying to get Mason to bed. His top teeth are coming in, and he's not been feeling very well. And boy, am I glad that I don't have to go to an actual office tomorrow for work. As much as I think it's tough staying at home, and I would never discredit all the hard work that stay at home moms do (because we all know that this sector of the "labor force" is under appreciated!), I'm glad that I don't have to get dressed early in the morning, figure out how to feed the baby without waking him completely up, make sure that there is no spit up on my shirt, commute to work, and interact with other working adults. Our schedule when we were both working was completely crazy, and I commend all those couples who can do it. But I definitely know that I felt like we were just go-go, and there was no time for us to actually just enjoy our time as a family.

I thought I would highlight a typical morning of getting ready, and how our evening usually went, when I was working full time:

5am. Feed baby.
5:30am. Put him back to bed. Get ready.
6:30am. Pack up the things he needed for the day. Go to daycare.
7am. Drop him off at daycare.

4pm. Leave work.
5:30pm. Pick baby up.
6pm. Get home. Either feed him, play with him, or try to put him down for a quick nap, and try to start dinner.
7pm. Bath time.
8pm. Put him to bed.
8:30pm. Check emails, and finish up work.
11:30pm. Go to bed.

And then do it all over again.

Anyways, for the time being, I'm enjoying hanging out with Mason, and watching him grow each and everyday.

Like, riding with him on his first merry go round!

I love this kiddo!

A house, a home

Monday, March 23, 2015

We had some free time this past week so we drove up to the area that we are considering buying or renting in. Of course, we proceeded to the hills, and to the houses beyond our price point to look at the houses. This house was open for show, so we decided to stop in and play house buying. Clearly, we are in the wrong neighborhood, ha! The realtor was really nice, and directed us to houses that are more in my price range, away from the hills. I love the hills for the view, but am not fond of it for fear of falling, or falling and rolling down a hill (my nightmare!). My girlfriend reminded me that she was not fond of it for reasons related to snow and driving (more realistic)!

Anyways, I would love to someday live on the hills. But in the mean time, here are some pictures!

These windows have some great views! Absolutely stunning. Downer for this house is that the garage is on the same level as the basement, which means taking groceries up the stairs. That was what we had to do in our last house so I definitely don't want to do that this time around if I can help it!

What beautiful double doors!

I told Mason to not get too comfortable since we can't afford this place, but he wouldn't listen!

We aren't looking for a ton of yard space so this would be quite perfect! Mason seems to agree!

Anyways, hopefully we can find a little house for us soon!

It's a bubble kind of day!

Thursday, March 19, 2015

Take a coat, they say. Well, truth be told, the weather here in Oregon has been absolutely beautiful! We have been taking evening walks almost everyday, and the air has been good, and the sun out and about. There has been a day or two where it's cloudy or drizzling, but not having to go out of the house helps! And, I must say, I don't miss the humidity one bit. Yep, not one bit! It feels good to be able to breathe!

We introduced bubbles to Mason recently and he loves seeing them. He looks super amazed to see them pop, and although he doesn't understand how they work exactly, it's fun to see him stare at them.

Last night, he had a really hard time sleeping and I think it may be because his top teeth are coming in. And he had a rash on his back so he may be allergic to something that I've tried feeding him. All those things aside, he's doing really well here, and we have really enjoyed staying here for a while.

Breakers Korean BBQ & Grill

Tuesday, March 17, 2015

Before I left Georgia, I went with two of my best girlfriends to a new Korean BBQ restaurant in town, Breakers. I had seen the billboard on my way home from work, and was very interested. I knew I wouldn't get some Korean BBQ for a while so I was very excited to go. The restaurant is inside the same shopping center as David's Bridal. One of my girlfriends got her dress from there, so I had been in that plaza before.

Inside, the restaurant is a lot fancier than most Korean BBQ restaurants. We were told that the BBQ grill have vents that pull the smoke in so that you won't smell like cooked meats afterward. If you've ever gone to Honey Pig, you know what I mean! Our waiter was very pleasant. He said that he had worked at Honey Pig, and most of the employees came from other local Korean restaurants.

We put in one chicken and two beef orders. There is pork, and scallops, and tofu as well. They fancied up the tofu by calling it tofu steak. Sneaky huh?

They started us with a squash soup, which seems very random for what we were about to eat. Also, this is more fall than winter in my opinion.

The soup was followed by the salad, which is more of a summer salad to me, and also a bit inappropriate at a Korean restaurant. But maybe that is just me???

I've seen more side dishes but these were nice with our meal.

Korean salad.

The chicken was amazing! I have never had chicken this delicious. It was seasoned perfectly so if you go, I definitely recommend the chicken. The beef was a little too chewy, but I love beef so I won't complain too much.

Overall, this place was very good! It doesn't have the typical Korean BBQ feel though if you are looking for that. Definitely order the chicken! Looking back at these pictures makes me miss Georgia so much!

Philosophy Miracle Worker Miraculous Anti-Aging Retinoid Eye Repair

Saturday, March 14, 2015

I've been trying this deluxe sample of the Philosophy Miraculous Anti-Aging Retinoid Eye Repair, and it has been amazing. It absorbs quickly and I have noticed a big difference since I do have wrinkles at the corner of my eyes. I don't have to use a whole bunch so it's lasted me nearly a whole month, and I used it morning and evening. I can't wait to grab a full size!

Happy 8 Months!

Wednesday, March 11, 2015

These pictures make me so happy! Mason has just completely stolen my heart, and each and every day, I feel like I can just burst with all my love for him. I feel like I can't love him enough, but each and every day, that love continues to grow!

He has changed so much over the past weeks. He is definitely getting heavier, and longer. I'm really looking forward to his 9 month checkup. I can't wait to see all his stats! He still has peach fuzz for hair. His two bottom teeth are just so precious! He is getting very good at rolling front to back. He sits very well on his own. Every once in a while, and especially if he is grabbing for a toy, he will roll over accidentally onto his back. It is a cute but funny sight. We've been working on his crawling but he hasn't been liking to crawl yet. He will do the superman, and I think he thinks he is moving sometimes. Haha! He was doing okay adjusting, and now his schedule is off again with the move, and the time change. He loves to laugh, and make different faces.

Sometimes he will stare at me, like he is saying, Look at me. It is the cutest. Gosh, I love this little boy of mine. He makes me so happy, and he really is everything to me.

Happy 8 months, my sweetheart!

Where's Wally?

Monday, March 9, 2015

We have packed up and moved across the Coast! We are still transitioning and I'm definitely longing for a permanent home at this point. We have moved as many years as we have been married, and I'm ready to put down some roots, have a little home, and work on the life that I want for my family! We will be closer to Brandon's family so I'm super stoked for him to get more time with his family, as well as for Mason to get some quality time with them.

Our move was very sudden, and so we are learning each and every day as obstacles creep up. I'm still finishing up some things for work, and balancing that with Brandon's work, Mason, and the time change has been challenging but we have had the best host that one can possibly ask for. God is great and his blessings have been forthcoming during this very unstable time.

Brandon is enjoying his work and we are very blessed for this opportunity for him.

Love you all!

Tillamook Cheese Factory Tour

Friday, March 6, 2015

We went to visit the Tillamook Cheese Factory. The road to the factory was so twisty-curvy, it was a bit ridiculous! I fell asleep on the way there but did stay awake on the way back. We were able to look into the cheese assembly line, and see how the cheeses get cut and packaged. We got to sample some yummy cheese. Two of my favorites were the garlic chili cheese, and also the black pepper cheese. We ate there at the cafe, and I split a taco cheese sandwich with Brandon, and had the tomato basil soup. We also ended up getting some ice cream there as well.

Happy Friday!

This cute little Tillamook van.

How long would it take to finish one of those ginormous blocks of cheese?

I love old ads!

Claims like these would get you sued nowadays.

Over at Intel

Thursday, March 5, 2015

We got to visit our friend at Intel the other day. We went there for lunch, and it was Food Truck day there so we got some yummy food to eat, and walked around the Intel campus. That campus was humongous. We ate at the cafe, and they had water pitchers filled with lots of different kinds of fruits to flavor the water. It not only looked beautiful but made the water even tastier! I'll definitely be trying those combinations at home. The front lady made a little name tag for Mason. It was super cute, and I still can't believe she made him an awesome name tag. Ha! We played around in the Information Center where students can come through.

Mason's First Airplane Ride

Monday, March 2, 2015

We were really worry about flying with Mason. I hate making a ruckus, and disturbing others so I didn't want to do that on the plane. And without knowing how Mason would be like, I was worried that we would be in for an unpleasant plane ride. One of my girlfriends suggested feeding him when we were going up, and also when we were getting close to landing so the air pressure wouldn't cause him any problems. We did that, and he did really well. He slept for a lot of the plane ride. When he was up, he looked around, looked out on the window, smiled at our neighbors, and the flight attendants. He loved the lights above. I changed him two times in the bathroom, and boy! are those bathrooms small, especially when you now have to change a baby! Mason's not super long so he was comfortable while I changed him, but I am not sure how other parents do it!

One of my favorite moments was him sleeping in my arms. He was just so peaceful. I love this little guy so, so much!

Thanks for reading!
